Friday, December 18, 2015 will be an early release day. This will be followed by our winter break. School will resume on Monday, January 4, 2016.

PTA meeting and Holiday Performance

Our next PTA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 6pm. This will immediately be followed by a holiday performance from 3rd grade. Popcorn and drinks will be available for those attending the performance.

Progress Reports

Progress reports will be sent home on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Please make sure you review these, sign them, and return them to school. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.

Cookie Dough Pick-up

Cookie Dough fundraiser orders must be picked up at school today, December 1, 2015. You can pick up these items between 3:30-7:00 pm in the school cafeteria. This is the only date for pick up. Thank you for your support of our school in this fundraiser.

Thanksgiving Holiday break

There will be no school for students from Wednesday, November 25, 2015 - Friday, November 28, 2015. We hope you enjoy lots of fun and good food with your families during this time of thankfulness.

Cookie Dough orders and money due

The Cookie Dough Fundraiser orders and money are due on Friday, November 13, 2015. Please turn everything in on this date. Remember that all students who sell at least 5 items will get to Silly String the principal. Click here to visit our page for more information.

Family Math Night

Family Math Night is Thursday, November 12, 2015. There will be two sessions to accommodate families with students in more than one grade level.

Important Upcoming Dates

On Tuesday, November 10, 2015 we have an early release day. Car riders will start dismissing at 1:45 pm and bus riders will start at 1:55 pm

On Wednesday, November 11, 2015 there will be no school in observance of the Veteran's Day holiday. We support our troops and thank all who have served in the military to protect our freedom. Quarterly Awards Programs

This year we will not have an awards program every quarter. We will send home certificates in report cards for perfect attendance, citizenship, Principal's List, and Honor Roll. There will be an end of the year awards assembly for all grade levels.

Fall pictures

Recently Fall pictures were sent home. Please return any unwanted pictures and/or money for pictures you wanted to keep by November 6, 2015. Thank you.

October 26th - October 30th is Red Ribbon Week

McDonald's Family Dinner Night

Please join  us on Tuesday, October 20th at the  McDonald's at the intersection of Wilson's Mills Road and Hwy 70/W. Market Street. 25% of the profits from 5pm-8pm will go to our school. Also, students can wear their spirit wear to school on this day and be entered for a prize drawing.

Scholastic Book Fair

Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair has started! There is a great selection of books for different grade levels, reading levels and subjects of interest. Families can shop on Tuesday, October 13th from 4pm-6pm or Saturday, October 17th from 10 am - 2 pm. Students can shop every day at school from now until Monday, October 19th. Happy Reading!

5K run/walk and Pumpkin Festival

The annual Sue Daniels Memorial Run/Walk is this Saturday. This event gives 100% of the proceeds to support our school's Backpack Buddy Program. Please click to find out about all our events for this day. Thank you for your support!

Spaghetti Dinner Tonight

Please join us on Friday, October 8th from 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm at our Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser to help support our backpack buddies program. Meals are $7 each and include a sweet tea, spaghetti, salad, and carrot cake. Meals are served in the school cafeteria. You may eat in the cafeteria or take the meals home. See you there!

Spirit Wear Online Store

The PTA sponsored online Spirit Wear Store is now available for two weeks only. Please click http://stores.inksoft.com/WMES/All-Products/-1 to place your orders.  You can find both adult and youth sizes along with some new designs. Remember that this helps support our school in providing much needed items such as books and technology for our students to access. Thank you!

Progress Reports

Reminder: Progress Reports for grades 1-5 are coming home on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Please review the progress reports with your child, sign them, and return them to school the next day. Thank you.

Let's Celebrate!

Wilson's Mills has some exciting news to share. We have recently found out our school grade. WMES has increased to a B and we have exceeded our expected growth. We are very proud of all the hard work our students, teachers, and families have put in to make this happen. Yeah us!

Spirit Night at Sweet Frogs

Mark your calendars for this Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 5-9pm and join us at Sweet Frogs in Smithfield. This is our school's first Family Spirit Night. 15% from the sales on this night will be donated to our school's PTA.

Tuesday Folders

This school year we are starting to send home Tuesday Folders. This means that every Tuesday, your child will bring home a folder for you to look through.

Kindergarten Orientation

Attention parents of incoming Kindergarteners... Kindergarten Orientation is Thursday, August 27, 2015 starting at 5:30 pm. You should receive notification from your child's teacher informing you which room number is your child's.

Shoparoo!
